I was hesitant in posting any pictures of my taxidermy pieces for a while now, but I see no harm in sharing them with the people who are interested in seeing them. For those of you who may be offended by taxidermy, I simply ask that you keep any and all negative comments to yourself and go back a page or two. I also ask that you do not flame the people who created these pieces. Thank you.

Moving on, these are two of my favorite foxes, Nova and Deadpool. I purchased both of them from *FoxyCreations. She made them both and I must say that she did a wonderful job. Please do yourself a favor and check out her gallery when you have the chance. Nova is the Finnish blue fox and Deadpool is the platinum fox. Their original names just stuck. :)

Nice, I had a pet platinum fox once. Would love one again if they only could be house broken :( Such beautiful creatures, and if they didn't die just for the taxidermy, I won't be bitching about it.

It really is. I have read a lot about it and obviously admire the work of others, but I don't think that it is an art form that I have enough time to devote to myself. The work of those that do, though? Some of the pieces that I have come across are amazing.

Why do people give the dead animal skins names? D:

I understand this is an old comment, but I wanted to throw in anyway:

I own dead animal skins, and I name each individually. To me, this helps me bond and love them more, it's a human traight to give something a word to refer to.

Not only this, but I have a spiritual belief that animal skins and pelts still contain something of what they once were, and naming them helps me sort this out more in my mind.

We don't name them just to be silly or funny - there can be real feeling behind it. :)

I do. :) Sorry I didn't mean to sound argumentative, just letting people know both sides of the story. :)

These aren't just dead animal skins; they are taxidermy pieces. Taxidermy is a form of art and, just as, say, paintings are often given titles, some people choose to name their soft mounts. I see no harm in it.
